The Pega 7.2 update is now available. It includes significant enhancements in application building and data management experience, mobile functionality, user experience, and analytics. Application-Building Experience Several new features in Pega Express directly address learning curve concerns and provide a more user-centric experience when building applications. Simple Start allows users without prior knowledge of cases to quickly build an application and add more complexity later. More Achievement Badges have been added to facilitate self-learning so that new users can quickly become familiar with the Pega 7 Platform. Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO) is now available in Pega Express, allowing collaboration and prototyping of business applications Customer/User-Driven Mobile Experience Organizations can now deliver even more seamless experiences for their customers and target users. New offline mobility features, such as support for large reference data, means that users can access large data sets such as parts catalogs or full customer lists - even when working offline. Push notifications can be displayed even when the mobile app is in use. Mobile UI improvements, including auto-complete rendering of fields with optional select-from lists, improved signature controls, and touch interactions with faster response and better feedback - all contribute to an exceptional user experience. For mobile applications, the updated Pega Mobile SDK now supports Microsoft Windows 10. Pega Mobile Client has a new simplified build page in addition to device calendar access through an API. More Reuse in the User Experience The new skin inheritance capability enables the creation of a base skin and allows any number of nested inheritances, resulting in a decrease in the size of the CSS and reduced maintenance costs. Other enhancements include right-to-left language support, new mobile landing pages that simplify the configurations for building mobile applications, and a new version of the UI styling kit for default user experiences. Simplified Experience for Managing and Administering Analytics New Decision Hub functionality can be found in the areas of UI improvements, enhancements to Revision Management, various usability and performance improvements, and better support for incorporating big data and using advanced analytics.
Visual Business Director has been re-written in HTML5 to support the Chrome browser, and its server components are fully integrated into the Pega 7 Platform architecture. Revision Management includes streamlined filtering for finding objects to be submitted for approvals. Performance and administrative improvements extend the existing on-premises and cloud scalability and operational efficiencies. Big data sources are easier to incorporate, with greater flexibility for classification of unstructured text streams, better visualizations, and options to use machine learning to score classifications. For advanced analytics, full support is available for PMML 4.2, and usability and scalability enhancements have been made to Adaptive Decision Manager. |
